Our Initiatives

CCBG revitalised the Senior Christmas Luncheon. Businesses and individuals across the community sponsored a plate resulting in 106 Senior Citizens sitting down and enjoying two-course meal for Christmas with their friends. There was live music, free wine and beer, and a real jovial atmosphere. The most common comment was ‘we should do this more than once a year’.

CCBG began managing the annual Christmas lights competition with financial support from Isaac Regional Council. Prizes are awarded to businesses and residences in a variety of categories including best street, best residence, best business, Winter Wonderland and Outback Christmas. In 2024, another category was added to include rural mail boxes.

The Clermont community welcomed 20 competitors from around the state to compete in the Inaugural Clermont Outback Sailing Regatta held on Theresa Creek Dam. CCBG partnered with Keppel Bay Sailing Club and the Theresa Creek Water Sports Club to host the inaugural regatta. The feature race, the Outback Marathon requires vessels to sail between two extreme points on the main body of water at Theresa Creek Dam. This event is held on the first weekend of August each year.
